The Nintendo Switch
Today is the day that Nintendo finally talked about the NX, or the Nintendo Switch. Yes, it now has a real name and design along with a lot more shown in this trailer.
The confirmation of the portable home console design has been confirmed including the detachable controllers. To change it from the home console to a portable device it just looks like you connect the detachable controllers to the Wii U Gamepad-like screen that’s in the console, and slide it out. The console looks as if it will also serve as a charging dock. The portable screen looks like a slightly bigger, thinner, and sleeker Wii U gamepad though. The portable screen has a built in stand to hold it up. It may also come with a screen holder for a car, however that may be sold separately. The console has multiple controller types, the ones we have seen are the detached controllers together, on the screen, and a standard controller.
The issue of multiplayer on the portable screen has been laid to rest. The video shows that multiple people can play off of on screen, and that two screens can play together. The biggest amount of people playing at one time was four.
A few games were shown in the video, some by Nintendo, and some by other companies. Nintendo’s shown games include the already shown Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a new level of a new Mario game, and a remade course in a new Mario Kart game. It also showed a new Splatoon game.
The third party companies that were shown were Bethesda and 2K Sports. 2K Sports’s game shown was NBA, and Bethesda’s looked like Skyrim.
We also have an official release date of March 2017, and we will continue to get updates until then.
