This is the second of the two Stranded episodes. We saw what was happening with Lars last episode, but at the very end Stevonnie’s ship was shot down and has since crash landed on a nearby moon. So, after “Lars of the Stars” brought us back into the fray of what was happening with Lars, how is this episode going to follow up on the previous one.

Story

After being shot down by Emerald’s ship, Stevonnie loses cpntact with Lars. As the ship is crashing, it lands on a moon. The ship is destroyed, but Stevonnie manages to escape safely. The planet that this ship orbits is destroyed, and by unknown reasons. The communicator from the ship was destroyed in the crash, meaning Stevonnie is trapped on the moon with noone to contact. Stevonnie is attacked by an alien and realizes that they can survive. They are on the moon long enough to grow stubble, and have their supply of energy bars run out. They question eating a small alien, but its mother attacks them, leading them to seek safety in an old Homeworld area. Stevonnie then falls asleep and is in Connies house. She sees Connies mother, but she’s speaking like Yellow Diamond, and as the dream progresses we see her turn more into Yellow. We then find out that Stevonnie is seeing through the eyes of Pink Diamond. They wake up and finds out that she is in a moon observatory similar to the one on Earth’s moon. They contact Lars, and he comes to their rescue, saving them from the alien that was attacking them earlier. The episodes ends with Stevonnie preparing to go back home to Earth.

Presentation

This is one of the coolest looking episodes in the show, mostly because we get to see an alien planet and all of its inhabitants. There are also a few scenes showing what Stevonnie does in an average day, which look really cool. There’s also Stevonnie’s dream, which shows Connie’s mom mixed with Yellow Diamond. We also get to see one of the biggest reveals of the series, what Pink Diamond looks like.

Final Thoughts

This was one of the best episodes that the show has to offer, due to a few key components. It’s got character development, action, great visuals, and plot revelations. The one thing that would have made this a perfect episode would have been a song, but that’s just a bit too much to ask. The only problem that I have with this episode is that since it was so good, there’s bound to be a hiatus soon afterwards.

9/10
