Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee Have Been Announced
Ever since last year’s E3, when it was announced that a main series Pokemon game was being developed for the Switch, people have been desperate to see a glimpse of it. While we still haven’t seen the new game, we were shown two new Pokemon games coming to the Nintendo Switch, those being Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! These games are not only a Kanto remake on the Nintendo Switch, but also new Pokemon games with Pokemon Go integration.
The actual gameplay shows the main haracter running through Kanto, and the graphics look amazing. This is what Pokemon X and Y were trying to look like, and it’s great. It shows that your starter is either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on which game you get.
After that it shows that you only play this game with one joycon. You use all the standard buttons on the controller, but the reason why you only use one is for catching Pokemon. The way to catch Pokemon is just like in Pokemon Go, by throwing it at the right time and trying to get it in the green circle.
One of the coolest announcements is that you can now play Pokemon with a friend on the same screen. Yes, by giving your friend the other joycon, you can play cooperatively with them. Not only this, but you both throw a Pokeball, which can result as an Excellent catch, which is basically guaranteed. But when you battle random trainers, it’s a 2 on 1, with you and your friend battling at the same time.
There was also a new peripheral shown, that being a real Pokeball. You can use it as a regular controller for the game, and then you can act like you’re throwing it for an easier time. But just like Heart Gold and Soul Silver’s PokeWalker, you can select a Pokemon to walk around with you in the real world. While it isn’t shown what this does, it could help make them more friendly to you, or possibly level them up.
But the Pokemon Go ties don’t stop there, as you can actually transfer Pokemon you’ve caught in Pokemon Go over to these games in a place called Go Park. It’s unknown whether you can use these Pokemon in your main adventure, but I wouldn’t doubt it. You can also send a present from the game to Pokemon Go, and that present is a never before seen Pokemon.
And finally, the release date, which isn’t too far away. Yes, you’ll be able to play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! on the Nintendo Switch on November 16th, this year.
