Nintendo Switch Online: Games, Features, and Prices
Ever since the Nintendo Switch has launched, Nintendo has talked about their online service, but never really said much. However, today we’ve been given a lot of information on the service, but no release date other than September. So, what did they reveal today?
Online Games
Nintendo has revealed some of the games being affected by the online service, those being Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, and Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido.
Free Games
The Online service will launch with 20 playable NES games, and will be regularly updated. The first ten games are Soccer, Tennis, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Dr. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3. These games will now have online multiplayer, and you’ll also be able to screen share and pass the controller.
Save Data Cloud Backup
While there isn’t much official information on this yet, it’s safe to say this will allow you to save your game progress so that it can be accessed on other Switch consoles.
Price
While the price may seem to be dreaded, don’t worry. Unlike Sony and Microsoft who charge $60 a year, Nintendo only charges $20 a year, $8 for three months, and $4 for one month.
