After 30 years, Mega Man has survived. However, recently the series has faded into near obscurity, with the only new games being collections of the classic series. That is, until today. During the Mega Man 30th anniversary livestream today, three major things were announced. So, I’ll be running through them from most to least exciting.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 will Release on the Nintendo Switch

While both Legacy Collections are great games in their own rights, they’re nothing new. While it will be great to be able to play the 10 classic games on the go, they have already been released. However, it has been confirmed that they will have amiibo support. The two collections could also be merged as one, but we don’t have any confirmation on that, at least until it releases in 2018.

All 8 Mega Man X Games will release on all Modern Consoles

Yes, the renowned Mega Man X series will be released on the PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2018. This could be a collection like the treatment that the classic series got, or they could all be released individually, but we don’t know yet.

Mega Man 11 is Real!

Finally, the biggest and best thing about the livestream was the announcement of the long awaited Mega Man 11. We got a trailer showing the new look of the game, which melds the 3D graphics of Mighty No. 9 with the classic Mega Man style, which looks unique and interesting. I will release an analysis of this trailer due tomorrow, and if you read this later you can find it here. Either way, Mega Man 11 looks great, shows the return of classic features, and will release in late 2018 for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
