The heroes of the DCU will always try to save the day, no matter how difficult it may be. But between the events of Dark Nights: Metal and No Justice, they’ve had their work cut out for them. From fighting alternate versions of Batman to having to work with villains against ancient gods, it’s time to go back do basics. So, is Justice League #1 that return these heroes so desperately need?

Story (Minor Spoilers)

After Dark Nights: Metal and No Justice, DC’s heroes have had a rough time. So, when Justice League starts and Neanderthals are attacking different parts of the world, it seems like a typical Vandal Savage plot. But when an unknown object comes towards Earth, the League has to make a choice. Find out what happens in the issue, which is out now.

Presentation

Justice League #1 doesn’t stay in one place for too long, whether it’s at the Hall of Justice, deep underground, or even in space, there’ll be someone there. There’s also a few smaller Easter eggs you can see around, such as costumes or helping heroes. But the art isn’t the only thing great about it, as the heroes aren’t just shouting exclamatory phrases, and are actually talking to each other like a group of friends would, even to the point of making fun of Batman.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to teams, it’s hard to do each character justice while also equally sharing the spotlight. There’s always one character that ends up stealing the show, and here, it’s Martian Manhunter. But it works, as we get to some of his more personal moments, and how he’s afraid of letting the team down with the responsibility he has. But this isn’t just a character introspection, as this issue is full of great moments like foreshadowing, comedy, character building, and of course, action. The Justice League is back, with arguably it’s most iconic cast, and this series looks like its got great things in store.
