Final Evolutions in Pokémon Sun and Moon
Today Nintendo uploaded possibly the biggest Sun and Moon related video since its announcement. It put to rest many rumors, and revealed a new, but familiar, feature.
The first part of the video shows the final evolutions of the starters, although they had already been leaked, but we know have full information. The final evolution to Rowlet is Decidueye, with the typing of Grass/Ghost, and the ability Overgrow. It also has the unique move of Spirit Shackle, which has an unknown attack value, but it will prevent those hit with it from switching.
The next evolution is for Litten, who evolves into Incineroar, with Fire/Dark typing and the ability Blaze. It also has a unique move with an unknown power called Darkest Lariate, which also ignores any stat changes on the target.
The final evolution of Popplio is the Water/Fairy Primarina with the ability Torrent. Its unique move is Sparkling Aria, which also has an unknown power, that will heal the burns of the target.
We have also been shown the other island guardians, including the Psychic/Fairy Tapu Lele with the ability Psychic Surge. There’s also Tapu Bulu who is Grass/Fairy with the ability Grassy Surge. The final island guardian is Tapu Fini with the Water/Fairy typing and the ability Misty Surge. All of the island guardians share a Z-Move as well.
There was only one new Pokémon and one new Alolan form revealed. The new Pokémon was a Psychic type called Cosmog, who has the ability Unaware. Cosmog also shares a resemblance to the Pokémon Moon legendary Lunala.
The new Alolan form is given to Persian. It gains the Dark type and the abilities Fur Coat and Technician. It also looks very similar to Garfield for no apparent reason.
In relation to the Pokémon League, you get to see it being built. It was also shown that champions of the Alolan League are able to challenge something called the Battle Tree. You’ll also be able to battle famous trainers such as Champion Cynthia from the Sinnoh league and your rival Wally.
This feature is also similar to one in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 where you fought these famous trainers in a tournament. You’ll also be able to meet and battle the protagonists of Pokémon Red and Blue, Red and Blue! They do look like they have aged however, so could Sun and Moon be trying to make an official timeline? You’ll be able to find out when the games are released on November 18th.
