Doomsday Clock #6 Review
All the way back in Doomsday Clock #1, we were introduced to both Mime and Marionette, but up until today, we’ve learned almost nothing about who they are. But today we learn about who they are and how they met, but does it hold up to the world of Watchmen origins?
Story (SPOILERS)
After the events of the past few issues, seeing Mime and Marionette tag along with the Joker, who has captured Batman. We see them go towards a meeting of super villains trying to decide what to do after the news of the Supermen theory. But the meeting is ended with a murder courtesy of one Comedian.
Presentation
The art is obviously amazing, but this issue has a large focus on the origins of Mime and Marionette. It’s interesting seeing these two as kids, and learning how they ended up getting their costumes. And the Joker has a few scenes, all of which are great and perfectly on character.
Final Thoughts
This helps finish off the back stories of our new characters, which we also saw for the new Rorschach, as well as for Ozymandias’s plan. This issue also helps show the villains’ side of the Supermen theory, which is more of fear for themselves, rather than wondering what’s happening. But we also have a new team dynamic shown off, which now creates a race for Dr. Manhattan between the good guys and the bad guys.
