Avengers: Infinity War Review (NO SPOILERS)
10 years of Marvel movies have been leading up to this. So many heroes, villains, and fight scenes have been shown across 18 movies. But in those movies there’s always been one looming threat, Thanos. But today, in Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers fight him head on. Is this the fight of our dreams, or did we over hype everything in our minds to unrealistic expectations?
Story
At the beginning of time, there were six infinity stones. They represent different powers, and are known as the Reality stone, Space stone, Mind stone, Soul stone, Power stone, and the Time stone. These stones were scattered across the universe, but not anymore. Thanos, the mad titan, is trying to find all of the stones to balance the universe, by killing half of all life in the universe with snap of his fingers. So obviously, the Avengers can’t let that happen, and that’s where the battle begins.
Presentation
Infinity War is the biggest MCU movie yet, and as such has the best presentation. Infinity War takes us to different places on Earth, different planets, and each location has a great contribution to the story. This is in addition to the updated costumes, which fit the darker themes of the movie. And each of the different teams and characters act the same as in their movies, so it doesn’t feel like different versions of the characters.
Final Thoughts
Every Marvel movie has lead up to Infinity War, and it delivered. Thanos is one of the best MCU villains, and he actually feels what he’s doing is the right thing, which you’ve got to respect. And the Russo brothers did say that there would be deaths, and those deaths hit hard. But this wasn’t just a dreary, death filled movie, as this was one of the funniest Marvel movies to date. Plus, this movie manages to balance so many characters, and actually do it well, so it doesn’t feel like one character or group gets the most screen time.
