Check out the version exclusives for Pokémon Sun and Moon
As of today we now know that there are version exclusives for Pokémon and not just Ultra Beasts. This was thought because UB-02 has different forms depending on the game. If you buy Pokémon Sun you get UB-02 Expansion or UB-02 Beauty for Pokémon Moon. This info is thanks to a new video from the official Pokémon YouTube Channel found here: https://youtu.be/m8lfI66T5II
With this new trailer came new Pokémon. The first of which is Passimian. It’s a pure fighting type with a new ability. As shown in the trailer its ability Reciever takes the ability of a fainted ally in a double battle. Passimian is exclusive to Pokémon Sun.
The next Pokémon announced was the Pokemon Moon exclusive Oranguru. It has a Normal/Psychic typing and is able to have either Inner Focus or Telepathy for its abilities. However Oranguru has a new move called Instruct. Instruct makes it so when it’s your turn, your using your ally’s Pokémon to attack.
The next two Pokémon are evolutions of the Pokémon Rockruff. However these two aren’t one after another, Rockruff will evolve differently depending on the game that you get. They are both called Lycanroc, are both pure rock type, and are able to learn the ability Keen Eye, however the Sun version is also able to learn Sand Rush and the Moon version is able to learn Vital Spirit. The designs are the biggest difference between them, having the Sun version be called Midday Form and looking like a wolf, and the Moon version being called Midnight form and looking like a Werewolf.
Along with the new Pokémon, a returning feature has been announced! Coming back is the ability to customize your trainer’s appearance! This version looks as though it’s much more in depth than in Pokémon X and Y. You are able to buy clothes, but now you’re also able to change your hair color, hair style, and the color of your eyes.
A new feature has also been announced, Poke Refresh! It’s were you can groom and feed your Pokémon, but it shows some effects on the Pokémon that look like status effects such as poison and paralysis. It then shows a tool that cleans them and takes away the status effect. Does this mean that you now remove status effects by going into that menu, and could that now be the way you heal your Pokémon? Sun and Moon have turned a lot of norms of the game upside down, so you never know!
And last but not least, Pikachu and Eevee have exclusive Z-moves! Pikachu’s consists of him dancing with the trainer, and then being thrown into the air, and falling down on the enemy and doing lots of damage. Eevee’s Z-move is different from any other we’ve seen, as it doesn’t do damage. It shows all the eeveelutions appearing and blasting beams into Eevee which sharply raises all of its stats.
