10 Coolest Things in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee were just announced yesterday, and they look great. These games are a remake of Pokemon Yellow, but with gameplay from Pokemon Go. And with the great amount of stuff that was shown in the trailer, what was the best?
10. A New Pokemon
While this isn’t a huge announcement, Pokemon remakes don’t usually get new Pokemon, just a new form. That, and the fact that Let’s Go and Go are both spin offs, and this is the first time this new Pokemon will be introduced.
9. Double Catch Feature
This is another thing that, while it may not seem great on the surface, can actually be really helpful. Getting this to work will basically guarantee a catch, meaning you’ll spend less time trying to catch something. And since Let’s Go is taking gameplay from Go, there’s a chance that Pokemon will be able to run while you try to catch them.
8. Pokemon Amie Returns
The Pokemon Amie feature was first shown off in Pokemon X and Y, and helped allow people to gt closer to the Pokemon by petting them. And if a player and Pokemon formed a strong enough bond, they Pokemon would actually do better in battle. So, Pokemon Amie is once again returning, and you actually use the joycon to act like you’re petting the Pokemon. This could be very exciting for younger players, especially if the Switch’s HD rumble mechanic is used.
7. Pokeball Peripheral
Pokemon has never been afraid to bring game features out into the real world, such as the Pokewalker that allowed you to bring a Pokemon from the game into the real world and walk with it. And now with the Pokeball Plus, you can do that once more. However, the Pokeball Plus also functions as a controller for Let’s Go, and will make trying to catch a Pokemon easier. But if Let’s Go is going to be similar to go, could walking with your Pokemon give them something to get stronger, or could you hatch eggs with it? Only time will tell.
6. Dressing Up Eevee and Pikachu
This feature doesn’t do much in the actual game, but dressing up your Eevee and Pikachu with different costumes is just great. Plus, it shows on them in the overworld and in battle.
5. Wild Pokemon Are Seen
One of the worst parts of Pokemon games is when you’re just trying walk through a cave and get randomly attacked by a Pokemon. Well in Let’s Go actually shows the wild Pokemon walking around. This will not only help you try to avoid Pokemon, but can also let you choose which Pokemon you end up fighting. And while this isn’t confirmed, but it could also show you shiny Pokemon, allowing people to seek it out faster.
4. Go Park
Pokemon Go was insanely huge when it first released, and still carries a large following with it today. So, with the announcement that you can bring your Pokemon into Let’s Go through Go Park, I’m sure many fans were excited. Even if you stopped playing after a few weeks, starter Pokemon can be transferred, which is much easier than trying to trade with someone else. This will also allow people to break the game and have a super strong as soon as they can visit Go Park.
3. Pokemon Follow You
When Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver first released on the DS, everybody loved the feature of having your Pokemon follow you when you walk around. This feature had been missing from every game since, but mow it’s back in full force. Not only will your Pokemon follow you around, but you can even ride of some of your Pokemon. When you ride certain Pokemon, such as Charizard, you can avoid battles or finding wild Pokemon.
2. 2-on-1 Battles
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon allowed for wild Pokemon to call for help, making you have to fight against two Pokemon, while you only have one. But in the new co-op mode, you can fight trainers with two Pokemon against their one. And, presumably, this means you’ll be able to fight the Elite Four and champion two on 1. This will allow you to have a much easier and more fun time. But you can’t do this on your own, which leads me to number one.
1. Co-op Gameplay
The best thing about Let’s GO is that it will finally allow you to play with your friend at the same time on the same game. This has an insane implication, where you could play through the entire game with a friend. But the second player isn’t like in certain games where they have no effect, as the second player can try to catch Pokemon, as well as fight Pokemon with you. This is what everybody has wanted since day one, and we can only hope this feature will make its way into the main series.
